The Western Australian Skilled Migration Occupation List for 2013-2014 is expected to be released by the Department of Training and Workforce Development this October. There will be a 15 days’ notice of the new 2013-2014 list before its official release. While the 2013-2014 list is still in review, the current list (2012-2013) still accepts applications for visas.
The Western Australian Skilled Migration Occupation List (WASMOL) is a list for applicants who have an identified occupation on the list and may be eligible for State nomination through Skilled – Nominated visa (subclass 190) or Skilled – Nominated visa (Provisional) (Subclass 489). The list, though, does not guarantee an automatic job for the applicant but they would have to compete with all potential employees to secure their desired position.
Spokesman for the Department of Training and Workforce Development stated, “The criteria for State nomination are currently under review. The 2012/2013 criteria will remain in effect until further notice. Notification will be provided on the migration portal at least 15 business days prior to implementation of the new criteria.”
Also, officials are reminding overseas visa applicants that Skilled Migration Western Australia at the Department of Training and Workforce Development no longer accepts direct applications for State sponsorship since the process for State sponsorship has changed.
