Canberra – Prime Minister Julia Gillard has pledged to implement changes to the 457 visa that the Immigration minister had proposed following the recent crackdown on businesses that breach the program. Australian, visa work, Australian visa, travel visa
Gillard also assured businesses and recruitment agencies that the government will continue with the program of allowing Australian employers to recruit and hire workers overseasbut will make the process a bit more difficult. She said the decision to tighten regulation is part of the plan to prevent the visa program from being abused and exploited.
The prime minister said the government will do everything to bring the program back in the right track as she added that the proposed changes were needed to restore and keep it under proper control.
Gillard however assured people that legitimate visa applicants are still welcome but only as a final option or after employers cannot find an Australian worker for the job.
